Drag it to the trash. If other email accounts have also been set up in Outlook, there may be other folders within Office 2011 Identities as well. If you’re trying to reset Outlook back to its factory installed state, trash all the folders within the Office 2011 Identities folder. That will eliminate all the messages, and when you next open Outlook it should be blank. This is an interesting question, Jeri.
Check the settings in the email program you're using if you're not sure if you added your account using POP or IMAP. Or, if you're not sure, change settings under both POP options and IMAP options. Send meeting invitations in iCalendar format By default, POP or IMAP users receive meeting requests as plain text messages with Outlook Web App-based links to meeting requests. If you select this option, meeting requests are sent in iCalendar (.ics) format. Recipients can take action on the meeting request directly from their email client. Note When you use POP or IMAP, meeting invitations are sent in a read-only copy and don't support rich collaboration.

We also have email accounts with Time Warner. Time Warner’s outgoing mail server uses the same user name and password as your incoming mail server, so here’s the easiest way to configure things. I’m assuming that in your Accounts window, your incoming mail server is pop-server.columbus.rr.com and your outgoing mail server is smtp-server.columbus.rr.com. Those are the correct servers for the Columbus Ohio Time Warner RoadRunner service area. I’m also assuming the click boxes for Use SSL to connect (recommended) are unclicked for both the incoming and outgoing mail server.
• Place a dot next to “Internet email” and click “Next”. • In the box labeled 'Your Name:', enter your name as you would like it to appear when people receive email from you. • In the box labeled “email Address:”, enter your username followed by “@ptd.net” in all lower case letters.

Outlook for Mac is similar to the Windows version, so the instructions for the Windows version of Outlook should give you the info you need. We generally recommend that people whose email we host (here at Everything Macintosh) use port 26 for outgoing email, but the universally standard port for outgoing email is port 25. We support ports 25 and 26, and the reason is that we found many coffee shops and hotels were blocking port 25 to prevent spammers from using their free hotspots to distribute their spam. It was very effectivespammers couldn’t send messages, but neither could anyone else!
(You might want to change the name of the rule to Receive All, since there’s no longer any sending involved.) Click the OK button to save the schedule. If you double-click on the Send All schedule, you’ll see that the upper pane shows that that schedule should occur Manuallywhich is what you want. That schedule says that sending will occur when you click the send button in a message, or manually click one of the menu commands that includes Send All (or it’s keyboard shortcut).
I stuck with 465 because of the responses I got. 25 timed out. 587 connected, but then wouldn't disconnect, even with a manual break.

Information you need to set up your accounts: • what type of mail account you have (POP/IMAP/HotMail/MSN*/Exchange) • your E-mail address • your account ID and password • addresses of your incoming and outgoing mail servers. Tip: If you don't know the difference between a POP and IMAP Account, see *Note: Entourage 2004 no longer works with POP3-based MSN accounts. You'll need to convert the account to a Hotmail-based account, which Entourage can then handle just fine. Ask your ISP or system administrator if you do not have this information. E-mail is delivered to you by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
A new window appears with two tabs, Server, and Security. Make sure the Server tab is selected. If you want to delete messages from the mail server as soon as you receive them, unclick the box for Leave a copy of each message on server. You can also leave that box clicked, then use the popup menu right below to set a waiting time before the message is deleted once it’s been received. This is really useful if you receive your email not only on your computer, but also on a phone, another computer, or a tablet.
NOTE: For those security conscious customers or customers normally accessing e-mail over wireless connections (Secure or non-secure), please place a check mark in “Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). In the box labeled 'Outgoing Mail Server:', enter “promail.ptd.net” in all lower case letters, without the quotation marks. Place a check mark in the boxes next to 'Use only this server' and 'Use Authentication'.
For the incoming server, make sure the box for Always use secure password is unclicked. The box for Use SSL to connect (recommended) should be clicked. That should automatically set the port number (in the box next to the name of the incoming server) to 995. If not, click the box for Override default port, and type 995 in the box. For the outgoing mail server, the box for Use SSL to connect (recommended) should be clicked, and the port should automatically show as 465.

Service has yet to be restored. AOL has been absolutely worthless - actually worse than worthless - concerning this. Frankly, I have no confidence that the issue is even being worked on. As a senior technology exec, I'm completely clueless as to how such a simple service could POSSIBLY take so long to remediate. Other than DNS propagation, one of my groups could have completely BUILT a new mail infrastructure out and deployed it into production in less time than AOL has in theory been trying to simply restore POP3 access. I have zero confidence in AOL, 'Oath', and now Verizon as a result - and plan to abandon Verizon at my earliest opportunity.
Make this change in More Settings > Advanced tab. GoDaddy does not always require authentication. Try it without authentication and if it fails, configure authentication on the Outgoing tab, choosing the option to authenticate with the incoming address and password. America Online AOL subscribers can use Outlook to read their AOL e-mail accounts. AOL supports both POP3 and IMAP, with AOL recommending IMAP.
The critical things are that the spelling of the incoming mail server name be absolutely correct, that the communication protocol and port number are also correct, and that your account name and password are correct. Not knowing the details about your particular account, what I can give you are some standard guidelines. Whoever actually hosts your email account can give you definite info for your particular situation.

The incoming mail server will be one of the following: pop.secureserver.net, mail.domain_name.tld, or pop.domain_name.tld. Use Port 110 or 995 for SSL. (Replace domain_name.tld with the domain name you purchased). If your account supports IMAP, use imap.domain_name.tld or imap.secureserver.net The outgoing mail server can be either smtp.domain_name.tld or smtpout.secureserver.net. GoDaddy supports ports 25, 80, and 3535; or if you need SSL support, port 465. Make this change in More Settings > Advanced tab.
Sorry I'm no help, but I have a similar problem!! Since upgrading to Yosemite my mailbox is empty and I have no idea where new mail goes.
I had a problem, in that when going into my contacts, it wouldn’t show my name. So I just want to share what I needed to do and that was – Go to ‘Contacts Search’ – Typed my name which then only brought up my contact – double Click on my Name – then Click ‘Go To local Contact’. This then opened my own contact that I could edit. Hope this helps anyone that might have the same problem with the Contacts List not displaying their own name initially. Once again thanks for the help. Typically, Verizon uses basic password authentication.

I'm in the process of working out the email transition, and then it's goodbye Verizon - don't let the door hit you on the way out. It never was total on April 14th. But it may well have been one or more servers that people were sent to. All during that period I had no trouble accessing. Note depending on where you are and what DNS server you use, you may be getting totally different server. As a curiosity I would like people to post which server, by IP name and address, they are using when these problems occur. I strongly recommend that even if its not working, that people stick to the settings that Verizon/AOL lists and not try to change them to something else.
