I don't have issues with Apple Mail except sometimes when I'm on the road my usual server to send mail isn't accepted. I blame that on the internet setup at that hotel and/or some kind of port identification/authentication with either Bluehost (my main mail server host) or Comcast(my alternate send mail server). Mail in general is somewhat complicated and issues can come from several sources, especially if you don't exactly know how to set your account up perfectly on Apple Mail.
