I had my hopes crushed. It booted, normally.
I had a cracked battery that caused non-charging, starting issues, it was intermittent. It was the devil to run down. You could not see the crack until the battery was lifted out of the machine - but then it was evident.
My MacBook Pro had same problem. Last night I turned off my comp, but next day cannot turn on.
The 200mb partition launches just fine from the optical bay, however the Mac OS partition does NOT. – Once it was formatted, I swapped the drives back (damn I’m getting good at this), and it was seen by the OS, the link speed was registered as 6 GB/s, but I could NOT copy any files to the drive EXCEPT a small.txt file. Thoughts: – So the drive SIZE might have something to do with it. – The drives write speed might also have something to do with it.
Form-fitting, glossy hard shell keeps scuffs and scratches at bay. Rubberized anti-tilt feet and vent slots keep your MacBook from overheating.

Sell the MBP for parts online, best you can do. Water damage is quite extensive, everything from the keyboard to the logicboard and likley a few things inbetween. Logicboard alone likely will cost about $800. So esentially just buy a new machine, rather than try to make a problematic one work.

No loss of info, no crazy glitches, nothing. Worked fine all week. I powered it down by choosing 'shutdown' from the apple drop down and sure enough it would not power back up. Did the above all over and sure enough it powered right back up. Note: I did have to have it connected to the power cord even though when it turned on it displayed 85% battery.
Whether there is a lose connection underneath OR the move triggered a specific combination of keys that has not been published, I do not know. But I do know it worked for me twice. So give it a try, it might help you too! Hi, today my MacBook Pro (mid 2012) don´t startup, no lights in the charger, etc, It was completely dead.

Your battery issues are not their fault. They did say this guide was moderate difficulty.maybe it's just a little beyond your skill level. We should all know our limits!
Once under all that, it's a mere 50 or so tiny screws, 2 screws in the power button backing, and you've got the keyboard out. Use a magnetized #000 phillips, it will make life much easier than anything else. I’m glad you managed!!! I’m suffering:( take a part about 5 times ordered new (used) keyboard, the same results. I tested logic board in my daughter MAC, board works 100% no trouble.
And the best part is that unless you look closely, you wouldn't even know it's there! I've had many people taken aback when they finally notice it. Losing a child is arguably the most difficult challenge a person can face in life. When I lost my son Davey in July of 2016 I was plunged into the most profound grief and sadness I had ever experienced.
Unlike the previous commenter, there was a screw hole on my new case to re-attach the antenna plate (in addition to the adhesive). You can actually replace the keyboard alone fairly easily! I don't know why everyone says you have to replace the whole top case, because if you've got the guts to go this far, you might as well just peel back the illuminator cover and get to work pulling all those tiny screws in the keyboard. Just be careful when peeling up the black adhesive keyboard cover, because you will need to replace it. I used the edge of the ifixit Sesame tool (very thin flat metal opening tool) to carefully slip under any bits of adhesive, and had the keyboard exposed in no time. Also be careful because the clear plastic sheet is actually the keyboard illuminator.
I’m a member of Amazon Prime so 2-day shipping was free and as I’ve been finding lately, sometimes it arrives next day. MacBook Pro - bottom of case This case is a hard plastic shell that clips to the MacBook Pro and provides protection for both the top and bottom halves of the machine. It doesn’t impact the closing of the MacBook, nor does it seem to prohibit pushing the display back to a pretty aggressive level. Pros: This case feels tough and pretty durable. When attached you can still see the Apple logo and the bottom half contains some small folding feet that can prop your MacBook Pro up a bit. It fits the outside of the MacBook case very well and snaps on in seconds. There is plenty of venting on it, especially on the bottom, so I didn’t notice any heat build up with it attached.
Why does Apple still sell it? The 2012 MacBook Pro is still a surprisingly big seller for Cupertino.
I did the bump all four corners on a solid surface. Went around a couple times to be sure I had done something maybe? The keyboard lights were on but no screen. Held the power button to shutdown and pushed again to restart.
This guide is rated “Difficult” which it really isn’t when you plan ahead in this way. It saves time in the long run.
Still, whichever screen you go for there's no doubt that the MacBook Pro has a superb viewing angle and brightness that few competitors can compete against. Unlike the slimmed-down Retina model, the latest Pro doesn't benefit from size or weight adjustments. At 2kgs in weight it's not a bother to transport about though, but many professionals may consider this model as a straightforward desktop replacement. If the 15-inch model sounds too big there is always the less pricey and (obviously) smaller 13-inch version to consider.
Form-fitting, glossy hard shell keeps scuffs and scratches at bay. Rubberized anti-tilt feet and vent slots keep your MacBook from overheating. • Sleek design. Ultra-thin and lightweight two-piece design is easy to snap on and off. *#1 Best-Selling HardShell MacBook Brand. NPD Laptop Cases.
Tried out all of the key combinations on the keyboard as well. Still nothing. I don't know what else to try. I read somewhere that the on/off button is connected to the ribbon cable from the keyboard. I checked, and it is plugged in correctly to the logic board. I'm afraid my logic board is dead, but after only a little more than a year???? Thanks for your help.
Macbook Pro 2012
All of the ports on the MacBook are readily accessible—the case doesn’t prevent any of the connectors from being used. The front edge of the case is flush enough that it doesn’t rub against your wrists as you type. There are two rubber feet on the front edge of the case that keep your MacBook from sliding around. Cons: Since this a shiny hard plastic shell (it provides no shock absorption), your MacBook Pro now feels very plastic. The shell collects finger prints and smudges pretty easily and seems to attract dust statically. The shell doesn’t really touch the MacBook Pro surface other than at the clip points so the shell makes the MacBook feel significantly thicker.
The keyboard and trackpad are essentially the same as those seen on the last several generations of MacBook Pros. Holding the Retina Pro side by side with this model, the only discernible differences are slightly shallower keys in the thinner Retina model, and a separate power button in the upper-right corner of the interior panel (on the Retina Pro, the optical drive eject button has been replaced by a power button). It's still one of the keyboards, perhaps a close second to Lenovo for overall ease of use. Sarah Tew/CNET The large glass trackpad, with its multifinger gestures, remains the industry leader.
Many Windows laptops have added larger clickpads over the past year or so, with somewhat similar multitouch gestures, but none can yet compete with the MacBook's gesture implementation. (But, here's a quick Mac touchpad tip. The tap-to-drag functionality is turned off by default. To turn it back on, look in the Universal Access settings menu, not the trackpad settings menu.) The 1,440x900-pixel display is one of the few weak spots in this system. It's similar to the 1,366x768-pixel display you'll find on less expensive midsize Windows laptops, but anything even close to this price range should start off with a much higher resolution. A 1,680x1,050-pixel display is a $100 option, and money well spent (plus, there's also an antiglare version of that higher-res screen).
You would sit on them in shorts and immediately begin to sweat and after just a few minutes you felt you were physically attached to the piece of furniture. Sure, her couches looked like new and were preserved for future generations but I couldn’t help but think that the enjoyment of that particular piece of furniture was completely compromised. While I want to protect my new MacBook Pro, I don’t want it to suffer the same fate. First Try - iPearl mCover Hard Shell Case As I tend to do, I jumped on and found a number of cases available. I looked through the reviews and found a very affordable hard plastic shell that got pretty solid reviews: a. At $19.99 it was less than half the price of other cases so I figured I’d give it a try.
