I will say I haven't seen reports similar to this here on this forum, so I suspect there must be something unique with the data in your file which caused the conversion to go badly. First, this might be too simple, but have you tried creating a new Quicken 2018 file and re-converting your Quicken 2015 file? Just in case something hiccuped during your conversion, and a second attempt would resolve it. It's unlikely, but easy enough to try. Second, can you still run Quicken 2015 on your Mac?

I've been playing with GnuCash and KMyMoney as potential replacements for Quicken for sometime and I've found both to be adequate. KMyMoney is certainly easier (more Quicken-like) but less flexible than GnuCash.

Quicken must attempt to choose a price that maximizes their profits - which requires providing the combination of features and cost that produces the best financial result. Which causes enough customers to pay for the product to cause it to remain a viable product.
