Chrome takes top honors for HTML5 support, followed by Opera 25 and then Firefox.
It will be a sad day, as Firefox is the last major browser to support Mac OS X 10.6 through 10.8. But it’s not all bad news. Firefox has given us Mac support longer than, which left us behind in April 2016.
Even the Mozilla Firefox ESR version for OS X 10.6.8 is a year old now. Mozilla Firefox ESR last update for OS X 10.6.8 was last May 2017. So, no more supported web browsers for OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, any longer. Here is the last Firefox ESR supported version here.
> More information I dug around for more information, that might be helpful. I was reading this: (not sure if it's up to date) The part that refers how Keychain Access by an App is tracked it states the following: 'Free access to the keychain item by the creating application and tracked with its DR (No automatic tracking for custom ACLs).' (DR meaning Designated Requirement) So, ACLs and DR come into play here, the fact that it does not satisfy DR on my Mac seems to be directly related. Original comment by spini.@gmail.com on 14 Jun 2012 at 10:03. Here's the results from Adium (which works correctly with the keychain on 10.6): $ codesign -dvvvv /Applications/Adium.app/ Executable=/Applications/Adium.app/Contents/MacOS/Adium Identifier=com.adiumX.adiumX Format=bundle with Mach-O universal (i386 x86_64) CodeDirectory v=20100 size=10746 flags=0x0(none) hashes=531+3 location=embedded CDHash=43d67cc521ea4eb46ccb45cb3d4604 Signature size=4256 Authority=Developer ID Application: Instant Messaging Freedom, Inc.

They also didn't always take us to where we were trying to go. Bottom Line Firefox for Mac is a good option to try if you have trouble accessing certain sites through Safari or other browsers. However, because of the issues we experienced during testing, we still prefer Safari or Chrome for everyday surfing on the Mac.
Quite interesting, shame it's not kept current for these earlier OS`s. Fwiw, these PowerBooks - especially the 17' in excellent condition (reconditioned/re-pasted etc) are still attracting a great deal of attention. I could have sold this one several times over.
Mozilla Firefox for Mac is a Web browsing alternative that offers a full range of features to let you peruse your favorite sites with ease. This program offers all of the functionality you'd expect from a Web browser through a clean and familiar interface. Pros Site optimization: If you're looking for an alternative to Safari on your Mac, you may find that some sites load more quickly and function better through Firefox. I have been happily working with OS X 10.6 on my 2007 Mac mini for years. I use Safari, Chrome, and Firefox daily on it, and only one of them is current – and not for much longer. Then again, OS X Snow Leopard itself is far from current, yet it allows me to run lots of software and be very productive. I don’t find it limiting at all to use outdated software with an outdated operating system on a discontinued computer that will never run OS X 10.8 or newer. It’s good enough for what I need it to do. Honestly, that’s the whole point of Low End Mac. You can be productive even if you can’t run the latest Mac OS and browser.
Given that v. 47.0.1 is the last one to be supported on 10.6.8, the answer given here: doesn't make it clear whether if it is preferable, IN TERMS OF BEST POSSIBLE FUNCTIONALITY (not necessarily security), to use v. 48 and later ones, or v. 45.x.x.ESR until it runs out in 2017. This in particular: 'Note: Some Firefox features might not be available on ESR.' Has caught my attention. Is there a way to know which are those features that are not available?
After all, there was a time when they had nothing newer to use, and they were productive then. The Real World Security experts will count out hundreds or thousands of security issues with whatever you’re doing on your computer, and none of it matters until someone targets that issue in a way that reaches your machine. That’s the real world. Theoretical security problems are not real until they become exploits, and even then the problem might never reach your system if you’re not downloading apps from unreliable sources. Whether our numbers are representative of worldwide OS X use or not, the trends here are fascinating. New versions are adopted quickly on release and grow more slowly, reaching their peak as the next version of OS X arrives – although none has achieved the nearly 85% share that Snow Leopard once had, based on our site traffic. They also drop quickly when a new version is released, followed by a slower decline that can go on for years.
It supports so many plug-in which can help me woke better. The ESR release is based on Firefox firefox for mac os x 10.6.8, so the features of Firefox 46 and later are not included in the ESR release.

The curious thing is that the FF one actually seems less specific. It doesn't even seem to require that it be signed by mozilla, which seems like a bit of a problem from a malware point of view. I'm guessing the problem is actually the 'anchor apple' instead of 'anchor apple generic'? (see below) I wonder if that's being specified or automatically generated? What's the output of 'codesign -d -r-' for FF on your 10.7 machine?
Despite its seeming age, it’s a sprightly browser. Opera: Fairly Current I’ve always liked Opera, but never enough to use it regularly. Until now, the most recent version I had on my Mac was 12.16, which is positively ancient. Opera is up to version 30 these days. Since version 26, Opera has required OS X 10.7 Lion or later. Version 25 (2014) is difficult to find, but will get you Opera 25.0.1614.71, the last version compatible with Snow Leopard. Roccat: A New Contender Roccat is designed to be fast, and it’s also available on iOS.
Click to expand. From that link, within 10mins I was able to find exactly what I was after. And I'd been searching for an hour or two yesterday.
This does not have to be a significant drawback except that the program seems to indicate it should work the other way as well. Poor tile loading: The tiled screen with recent pages visited didn't load terribly thoroughly, and most tiles didn't contain images of the actual sites they described. They also didn't always take us to where we were trying to go. Bottom Line Firefox for Mac is a good option to try if you have trouble accessing certain sites through Safari or other browsers. Passport photo tool for mac. Please consider upgrading to a more recent version of Internet Explorer, or trying another browser such as Firefox, Safari, or Google Chrome.
I've changed the OS 10.6.8 'Snow Leopard' language to French. This configuration with a highly 'tweaked' FireFox 8.0.2 browser in English (updated from FireFox 10.0.1) worked a treat, and the laptop ran splendidly.
It doesn't have to be the latest and greatest. There are still a lot of macs second hand that can run Sierra.
I've used it myself and it is a fantastic browser. The current version is 27.9.3 and was released June 12, 2018: New Moon has also been released for Windows XP, which was officially dropped at Pale Moon 26.5. The current version for XP is 27.9.1 and was released June 16, 2018: The name 'New Moon' was chosen because the Pale Moon developers wanted a different name to symbolize to users that they no longer officially supported Windows XP or Snow Leopard.
